Kånken Rainbow

What is the purpose of FJR launching Kånken Rainbow? 
With Kånken Rainbow we celebrate the diversity that is present in nature and the human race and every individual’s freedom to express themselves. For each backpack sold, 1% of proceeds is donated to projects within our Arctic Fox Initiative. A special edition pack with all that great Kånken love, and a bit more. 

What does the rainbow stand for? 
The rainbow is a symbol for diversity, openness and equal rights, we think it perfectly captures the spirit of outdoor life – because nature doesn’t judge. 

What do we do concerning LBGT related issues in our workplace?  
We have no specific activity in or plan in relation to LBGT related topics. Our goal is to treat every employee the same, with the same respect, providing the same open and inspiring working environment, personal development opportunities and workers’ rights.  

In our Fenix Way we state the following principals that we work by:   

Diversity and discrimination 
We see employee diversity as a guiding principle in our employment policy. This means promoting the diversity and heterogeneity of the individuals in the company in order to attain the highest possible productivity, creativity and efficiency. Skills, performance and ethical conduct shall be the most important indicators for employee qualification. We will not discriminate or tolerate discrimination with respect to race, gender, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin or any other characteristic protected under law. Each employee is required to contribute to an environment of respect that precludes any kind of harassment, including workplace bullying, unwelcome sexual advances, unwanted physical contact, proposition or a working environment poisoned with harassing jokes, words and demeaning comments. 

Are you supporting any LBGT communities or projects?  
The Kånken Rainbow is one of many products contributing to an initiative called The Arctic Fox Initiative. This works as an umbrella under which we support different projects and organizations that work to preserve nature or inspire people to spend more time in it. Anyone is free to apply for funding, which of course also includes any project related to the topics mentioned above.  

Is the Kånken Rainbow “pinkwashing”:  
We want to highlight the fact that for nature we are all equal. This we chose to do in a playful way using symbols connected to equal rights for all. We chose to include this in the Arctic Fox Initiative simply to further expand our possibility to support good projects within a wide range of important topics. “Pinkwashing” is a term used on companies which claims to be LBGT friendly but are running a conservative policy or discrimination due to sexual orientation. We do not discriminate on any of those terms and only see the Kånken Rainbow as a homage to diversity and equality.
